A three day event completely dedicated to research and innovation will take place in Brussels on 24-26 September 2019. The event contains a Policy Conference, an Innovation Europe Hub and the exhibition “Science is wonderful”.

The Policy Conference brings together high-level policy-makers, leaders from industry, finance, and of course science to debate and shape the future research and innovation landscape. It covers vital areas of science, engineering, medicine, and wider social and environmental concerns. Part of this conference are so called co-design sessions in which participants will debate the impact and strategic priorities for the first four years of Horizon Europe, together with European Commission and Member States representatives. Co-design sessions are structured to allow an in-depth dialogue and to work across sectors and disciplines. Attendees will be able to interact or vote during co-design sessions. The final aim is to draft an initial strategic plan for Horizon Europe. The basis for the debate will be a document, available online soon.

The Innovative Europe Hub is a meeting space for innovators, investors, entrepreneurs and the whole range of services, businesses, civil society organisations, agencies and intermediaries that make European science technology so dynamic. It is an important opportunity to debate and shape the targeted impact and strategic priorities of Horizon Europe, the European Commission’s proposal for the next EU research and innovation programme.

The exhibition “Science is wonderful” is a free and aims to bring the world of science to the public. Be it fighting cancer, slowing down global warming, preventing hunger or even facilitating human life in space. That is all part of the variety of activities visitors can discover at the exhibition, showing how science impacts our life. It opens its doors on the 25th and 26th of September at the sampe place, the Kanal Centre Pompidou and offers live demonstrations and face-to-face chats with researchers.
