The conference & workshop of the "Saving Freshwater Biodiversity Research Data" project will take place at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences on Tuesday 27th & Wednesday 28th February 2018.

The SWIFCOB (Swiss Forum on Conservation Biology) is an annual conference of the Swiss Biodiversity Forum. It regularly convenes ca. 200 actors from science, administration and society and encourages debate on hot topics and cross-sectoral solutions regarding the preservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.

The Gothenburg Global Biodiversity Centre is now reaching the end of its first year in existence, and it will be celebrating with its First Annual GGBC Meeting: a lunch to lunch event on Dec. 4-5 at Hörsalen in Botan.

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Canadian Museum of Nature will host the 2017 Biodiversity Information Standards (TDWG) conference in Ottawa, Canada, October 1 - October 6.

Standards for the description and exchange of biodiversity information help promote research, support decision-making for conservation and planning, and provide a means of communicating observations across taxa, sub-disciplines, and political boundaries.

The annual TDWG conference serves two purposes:

BEERi is an advisory panel consisting of directors or coordinators of the environmental Research Infrastructures giving direct guidance to the ENVRIplus project management and giving strategic view to the project progress, acting as internal advisory board representing the needs of environmental Research Infrastructures.

The Finnish Museum of Natural History, University of Helsinki, on behalf of Finland, is pleased to host the 24th meeting (GB24) of the GBIF Governing Board and warmly welcomes all delegations to Helsinki.

The official Governing Board meeting will take place on 26-27 September 2017.

A Global Nodes meeting will take place on 24-25 September and Governance committee meetings will take place on 25 September.

An informal, interactive afternoon, organized by the Belgium Ecosystem Services Community (BEES)  focused on developing interdisciplinary cooperation and exploring transdisciplinary opportunities. Starting with a lunch, sharing experiences with short inspiring presentations, and having an interactive session, all while enjoying the magnificent 180° view on Ghent City from the 21th floor.

On October 23-27 2017, the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) community will come together for the Earth Observations Week 2017, consisting of GEO-XIV Plenary, side events and exhibition, and will highlight and promote the role, applications and opportunities to use Earth observations in delivering 'Insight for a changing world'. With a focus of delivery and impact, GEO Week 2017 will explore the use and applications of EO in both the public and private sectors for the benefit of humankind.
